Meet Christy Drever

Christy Drever Squamish Physiotherapist working at Peak Integrated Health

Background

Christy graduated from the University of Alberta in 2014 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation in 2011. Christy’s clinical experience involes a large spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions having worked in both the private and public health sector. She is a certified sport first responder and has worked with Jr. A Hockey, Varsity Volleyball and Rugby teams collecting hours towards her Certificate in Sports Physical Therapy.

Christy is certified in Gunn IMS and Biomedical Dry Needling, has completed further training through the Orthopedic Division and is a Certified Manual Therapist through the Swodeam Institute. Christy is also a GLA:D Canada certified instructor and offers delivery of an active approach for those with hip and knee osteoarthritis. She has also completed further training in biomechanical assessment and treatment in sport and shoulder rehabilitation. Christy’s philosophy for treatment is that each approach should be patient specific: Understanding the biomechanical nature of each body guides the treatment to assist each individual in achieving their own personal goals.

On a personal note, Christy is an endurance fanatic: She ran Varsity Cross-Country, has completed several marathons, long course ½-Full Ironman Triathlon and has been to the XTERRA Off-Road Triathlon World Championships several times. Just as excited by winter, she loves snowboarding and touring in the off-season. The Sea to Sky has been a perfect playground for her whether it be for training or simply enjoying the beauty it has to offer with friends.
